Background
What Do We Know About Natsume's Book of Friends 7?
The Natsume's Book of Friends anime series adapts Yuki Midorikawa's manga; originally titled Natsume Yūjin-Chō, which ran in Hakusensha's shōjo manga magazine LaLa DX from June 2003 to April 2008 and has been serialized in LaLa since July 2007. It has been collected into 31 volumes as of September this year and licensed for release in North America by VIZ Media. The story of Natsume's Book of Friends follows Takashi Natsume, an orphaned high school student who can see supernatural entities and phenomena, also known as ayakashi or yōkai and one day comes across his late maternal grandmother notebook to which she, a powerful exorcist, would bind various demonic spirits to the pages of the book after defeating them. These spirits could then be called out later from the notebook dubbed "The Book of Friends".

Takashi makes the decision to free each one from the notebook, but due to the fact that it contains the names of all the hundreds of powerful spirits his grandmother Reiko subdued, allowing for their complete servitude, it is a prized artifact in the yōkai world, making Takashi a target for various evil spirits and malicious entities who want the notebook's power for themselves. In season 7, we can expect more of the series' characteristic merging of the supernatural with slice of life, which is not quite as calm and soothing as something like iyashikei, but definitely packed with the vibrance of dialogue; especially between Natsume and Madara, more adorably known as Nyanko-sensei.
